Building Trust Between Police and Citizens
Nali Organization’s Framework for Institutional Democracy and Human Rights Education (2005 - 2025)
1. Strategic Vision: Police as Democratic Shields, Not Forces of Fear
Nali Organization posits that national stability is not built on fear, but on a "Civilized Relationship and Deep Trust" between citizens and the police. Our vision is to transform the mindset of security institutions into guardians of the rule of law and civil rights, ensuring that citizens feel freedom within their security, not intimidation.
2. Operational Training: From Protest Rights to Emergency Response
Nali has conducted dozens of specialized courses and field workshops for police units and rapid response teams, focusing on:
Safeguarding Protest Rights: Training security forces on democratic methods of managing civil activities, ensuring that both security and freedom of expression are preserved.
Humanitarian Response Protocols: Advancing the capabilities of security units during natural disasters and major crises to act as rapid national first responders, protecting lives in the vicinity of incidents.
The Rights of the Accused: Emphasizing the preservation of human dignity and legal rights even for suspects, as a fundamental part of modern policing ethics.
3. Constructing the "Modern Policing" Model
Through these workshops, Nali has enhanced the spirit of cooperation within security units, shifting their role from "Asset Protection" to "Citizen Service." These efforts aim to reflect a democratic society where the law is enforced with human integrity.
4. Future Outlook: Toward Community Security (2026)
Nali’s roadmap involves deepening the concept of "Shared Security." We aim to elevate coordination between civil activists and police forces to a level where both parties feel mutually responsible for maintaining urban peace and fostering democratic growth.
